[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao Commerce's made-to-order platform Kakao Makers has surpassed a cumulative transaction amount of 300 billion KRW.
According to Kakao Commerce on the 30th, this milestone was achieved 4 years and 9 months after the service launch. Kakao Makers reached a cumulative sales amount of 100 billion KRW in April 2019, and then achieved a cumulative transaction amount of 300 billion KRW 1 year and 7 months later.
Until November this year, Kakao Makers provided production opportunities to 3,100 manufacturers and creators, selling 10.09 million products.
Kakao Makers was started to reduce inventory through the made-to-order method, changing the paradigm of mass production and mass consumption systems, and to solve inconveniences in daily life through idea products. It merged with Kakao Commerce in December 2019 and continues to maintain the made-to-order business model. It offers sales channels for domestic small and medium brands and provides curation services that convey the value of products and brands.
Kakao Makers plans to lead the creation of an eco-friendly commerce ecosystem by increasing eco-friendly products in the future.
A Kakao Makers representative said, "We established the made-to-order business model, which was not widespread at the time of Kakao Makers' launch, and achieved the meaningful milestone of 300 billion KRW in cumulative transaction amount. We will continue to grow as a platform that considers eco-friendliness across products and services while coexisting with domestic brands producing good products."
