12 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gangnam-gu


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 29th, 12 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gangnam-gu.


Cases 496, 497, 501, 502, and 505 were infected through contact with confirmed cases from other regions, cases 498 and 499 were infected through contact with previously confirmed Gangnam-gu residents, cases 495, 500, 503, and 504 showed symptoms such as sore throat, and case 506 tested positive at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center on the same day despite having no symptoms after arriving in the country on the 28th.


Proactive testing of students attending the Daechi-dong academy, where a previously confirmed examinee residing in another region was enrolled, resulted in all tested individuals receiving negative results.


Jung Soon-gyun, the district mayor, stated, "The principle of infectious disease response is 'early detection, early containment.' We ask all residents to visit the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center for testing if they experience even the slightest abnormal symptoms."
