[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A post claiming that a delivery worker from a delivery agency verbally abused and insulted a Soongsil University student for "not delivering the food inside" has sparked public outrage online.
On the 28th, an anonymous post on Soongsil University's community Everytime stated that a delivery worker from a delivery agency verbally abused a customer attending the university.
The writer, who introduced themselves as the owner of the delivery agency, recounted the situation, saying, "On the 25th, a Soongsil University student verbally abused an employee working for our delivery agency."
They continued, "The student requested a contactless delivery, but due to concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the delivery worker was not allowed to enter the building," adding, "The delivery worker called about 20 times but received no answer. When contact was finally made, the student angrily said, 'Everyone else comes inside, why can't you?'"
Furthermore, "Eventually, the student came down and spoke disrespectfully to the delivery worker, threatening them verbally and physically, then filed a complaint with headquarters and sent a text message," the writer revealed.
The text messages released by the writer were filled with harsh insults.
In response to the delivery worker's message, "They won't let me go upstairs. Come down," the student replied, "I've already blocked you and filed a complaint. You uneducated XX, is that how you teach? How long will you keep acting like this? Just get hit while delivering. If you want to live, please live humbly. I'll see all the XX like you. Let's never see this XX delivery agency again. Throw it away, XX," unleashing a barrage of offensive language.
After the messages were made public, not only students from the same school but also netizens could not contain their anger.
One student exclaimed, "Who is this? We need to spread this so they feel ashamed," expressing outrage. Another anonymous student posted, "This is a student from the XXXX department. Goodbye," attempting to guess the student's major.
