Korean Independent Films, Supported by KB Kookmin Bank!
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 27th that it signed a business agreement with the Korean Independent Film Association at the opening ceremony of the Seoul Independent Film Festival held the previous day.
KB Kookmin Bank donated 300 million KRW to the Korean Independent Film Association, a symbol of the Korean film industry, to support the Korean film industry struggling due to COVID-19. Through this, it plans to support independent films, independent filmmakers, and independent art film theaters.
The donation was funded by the bank contributing an amount equivalent to 1% of the maturity interest of the KB Movie Love Savings, launched in July 2010. KB Kookmin Bank launched this savings product to promote the development of the Korean film industry, and this time decided to use it to support the independent film industry, which has been struggling due to COVID-19.
A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “KB Kookmin Bank will strive to continuously contribute to the Korean film industry, which is facing difficulties due to COVID-19, through this agreement.”
