[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 30s killed his wife and then jumped to his death after a conflict over purchasing an apartment, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
At around 1 a.m. on the 27th, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul received a report that Mr. A, a man in his 30s, stabbed his wife with a weapon and then jumped from an apartment in Yangcheon-gu, and officers were dispatched to the scene.
When the police and paramedics arrived, Mr. A was found on the first floor already deceased, and his wife was unconscious and transported to the hospital, where she later died.
According to the police, the couple, who were living in a rented house, reportedly had disagreements over how to finance the purchase of another apartment.
The Yangcheon Police Station, investigating the case, is conducting a detailed inquiry with family members and others close to the couple, and has requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
