[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The specialized automotive aftermarket exhibition, '2020 Auto Salon Week,' announced on the 27th that it will postpone the 2020 Auto Salon Week exhibition to September 2021 due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Auto Salon Week Organizing Committee has made the final decision to postpone the '2020 Auto Salon Week,' originally scheduled for December, to be held from September 30 to October 3, 2021 (tentative).
This decision was made to cooperate with public quarantine measures and minimize damage to participating companies, recognizing the serious situation as COVID-19 cases have recently surged again and social distancing levels in the Seoul metropolitan area have been raised. The 2020 exhibition, initially planned for October, was previously postponed to December due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in August.
The Auto Salon Week Organizing Committee stated, "We have decided to hold the event next year, recognizing the serious situation where community spread is expected to intensify and quarantine levels may be further raised." They added, "We sincerely offer our condolences to the participating companies and the public who are experiencing inconvenience and difficulties due to COVID-19. We hope that COVID-19 will end as soon as possible, and we will do our best to hold a more successful event in a healthy environment in 2021."
