Asung Daiso Launches 'Kimjang Supplies Special Exhibition' with Over 50 Items for Kimjang Season

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Asung Daiso announced on the 27th that it will hold a ‘Kimchi-making Supplies Special Exhibition’ in preparation for the kimchi-making season.

This special exhibition is mainly composed of kitchen supplies needed for making kimchi at home, and also introduced children's kitchen hygiene products so that kids can participate. A total of about 50 items including cooking utensils, disposable kitchenware, and kimchi containers were prepared.

Cooking utensils include items used for preparing kimchi ingredients such as slicers, kitchen knives, and cutting boards. They offer the ‘Singsing Slicer,’ which is good for making radish strips, a ‘Vegetable Chopper’ that easily chops kimchi ingredients, and a mortar and pestle for mincing garlic. The ‘Multi-purpose Slicer,’ capable of various slicing styles including slicing, julienne, and chopping, can be very useful when preparing kimchi at home.

Disposable kitchen items necessary for kimchi-making such as hygiene gloves and kimchi bags are sold, and children's aprons and chef hats are also offered to help prepare enjoyable kimchi-making experiences with kids. The rubber gloves have a fleece lining, making them suitable for use in winter. The kimchi mat is made of waterproof fabric, allowing for water cleaning, and measures 120cm in diameter and 16cm in height, making it suitable for a family of four.

Kimchi containers and Onggi pots come in various sizes. Kimchi containers range from 1.5L to 10L, allowing storage according to the type of kimchi, which draws attention. Onggi pots are available from 370mL to 870mL and can be used for storing kimchi or seasonings. Vinyl aprons help prevent seasoning stains during kimchi-making and come in packs of three for 1,000 won. The round sieve has a diameter of 58cm, and the round colander has a diameter of 54cm.

A Daiso official said, “As the weather gets colder, more people are preparing for the full kimchi-making season,” and added, “We hope families enjoy happy and joyful times making kimchi together.”
