Local residents are experiencing washing machines at the LG Electronics free laundry room installed in Benin City, Nigeria.
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics recently opened a free laundry facility called ‘Life’s Good with LG Wash’ in Benin City, Nigeria, the company announced on the 27th. This is the fourth time LG Electronics has established a free laundry facility in Nigeria.
The laundry facility can wash and dry about 500 pieces of clothing per day to help local residents who face difficulties washing clothes due to shortages of water and electricity.
LG Electronics equipped the laundry with the latest washing machines, dryers, irons, fabric softeners, detergents, and other necessary items for laundry and clothing care. The facility is air-conditioned, and an uninterruptible power supply was installed to ensure residents can use the service without inconvenience even during sudden power outages.
Previously, the company established free laundry facilities consecutively in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Kano regions of Nigeria, starting in 2018. So far, 24,000 households have used the free laundry service, and more than 300,000 pieces of clothing have been washed.
Son Tae-ik, General Manager (Executive Director) of LG Electronics Nigeria, said, “With LG Electronics’ advanced technology, we will provide practical help to residents in Nigeria and work together to create a better life.”
