[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Heo Yong-do) will hold the 38th Busan Industry Awards ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 27th in the Sang-ui Hall on the 2nd floor of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Busan Industry Awards is an annual event hosted by the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1983, selecting awardees among businesspeople who have dedicated themselves to the development of the local economy and commerce industry and have achieved remarkable results through corporate management.
This year, the 38th Busan Industry Awards selected recipients in the Special Contribution, Management, and Technology categories: ▲ Special Contribution category - Chairman Kim Ji-wan of BNK Financial Group Co., Ltd. ▲ Management category - CEO Yoo Jae-jin of Star Automobile Co., Ltd. ▲ Technology category - Chairman Park Soo-bok of Daeryuk Metal Co., Ltd.
Chairman Kim Ji-wan of BNK Financial Group Co., Ltd., the recipient of the Special Contribution category, was recognized for significantly contributing to revitalizing the local economy by supporting more than 90% of the group's corporate loans to local small and medium-sized enterprises struggling due to Japanese export regulations and COVID-19.
He was also acknowledged for setting an example in win-win management for local community development through active social contribution projects.
Yoo Jae-jin, CEO of Star Automobile, awarded the Busan Industry Award for Management.
CEO Yoo Jae-jin of Star Automobile Co., Ltd., the recipient in the Management category, was selected for his management philosophy prioritizing customer satisfaction and his contribution to steady corporate growth and local job creation over the past five years.
Chairman Park Soo-bok of Daeryuk Metal Co., Ltd., the recipient in the Technology category, was evaluated for contributing to quality improvement and technological innovation in the local automobile plating industry through establishing an automated automobile plating system, developing eco-friendly plating methods, and implementing various plating colors.

Heo Yong-do, chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said on the occasion of the awards ceremony, “I express my gratitude to the businesspeople who have been a strong pillar of the local economy on the industrial frontlines and in management despite the difficult conditions caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also strive harder to create a better environment for business and promote the development of the Busan economy through unity in the local economic community.”
The ceremony is expected to be attended by about 90 local officials and prominent businesspeople, including Heo Yong-do, chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Park Seong-hoon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, Shin Sang-hae, chairman of the Busan City Council, and Kim Seok-jun, superintendent of education.
