[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University has achieved the remarkable feat of being selected for the Arts Instructor Support Project for four consecutive years during its operation period.


According to the university on the 26th, the Arts Instructor Support Project is a joint initiative involving the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide, and local governments. The project is primarily implemented to provide cultural arts education services in eight fields?Korean traditional music (Gugak), theater, film, dance, comics and animation, crafts, photography, and design?at frontline schools.


This year, Hannam University was finally selected as the operating institution for the Arts Instructor Support Project in the Daejeon and Sejong regions and will promote the project with a budget of 3.1 billion KRW next year.


Previously, after launching the on-campus Arts and Culture Education Project Group in 2017, Hannam University has led cultural arts education within schools by dispatching 209 instructors to 407 elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the Daejeon and Sejong areas that require cultural arts education.


Kim Geon-ha, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Hannam University, said, “Based on the experience and achievements accumulated through years of project operation, we will activate high-quality cultural arts education and devote ourselves to nurturing creative talents.” He added, “Furthermore, by revitalizing a systematic network among schools, instructors, and institutions, our university will serve as a hub institution for regional cultural arts education.”
