[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo claimed on the 26th that the conflict between Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae and Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is a public spectacle orchestrated by the ruling party to secure the continuation of their regime.

On the same day, Hong stated on his Facebook, "The climax of the conflict between Minister Chu and Prosecutor General Yoon can be interpreted as a key part of a counterintelligence strategy (反間計), where Minister Chu, despite risking criticism for overacting, excludes Prosecutor General Yoon from his duties." Counterintelligence strategy refers to a tactic of winning over enemy spies to overpower the opponent.

He continued, "The essence of counterintelligence strategy is to endure desperate measures to make the opponent truly believe it," and explained, "In the Battle of Red Cliffs from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhou Yu uses Huang Gai as a sacrifice to employ counterintelligence strategy to defeat Cao Cao's one million troops."

He added, "They stage a scene where the first and second key figures behind the birth of the Moon Jae-in administration fight fiercely, diverting the entire nation's attention to the Chu-Yoon conflict," and criticized, "They use this to cover up tyranny and mismanagement and drag the opposition party into the mire."

Finally, Hong criticized the ruling party, calling them "a truly cunning and wicked group," and said, "After deceiving the people with a fake peace show using Trump to seize local elections, now they are trying to blind the public with counterintelligence tactics and divide the opposition to deceive the people until the presidential election."
