[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Hyundai Construction Equipment, an affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, has completed the construction of the 'Technology Innovation Center,' which will serve as a cradle of quality innovation, laying the foundation for strengthening brand reliability.
On the 26th, Hyundai Construction Equipment held a completion ceremony for the Technology Innovation Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, attended by President Gong Gi-young and other executives and employees.
The Technology Innovation Center, which began construction in September last year with an investment of approximately 77 billion KRW, was built on a site of about 40,000㎡ (12,200 pyeong) and consists of a reliability evaluation building and a complete equipment performance testing building.
About 100 researchers will be stationed in 16 testing rooms here, conducting integrated quality research and verification from parts to complete equipment.
In particular, Hyundai Construction Equipment established an integrated control system room within the center that incorporates advanced ICT technology, enabling real-time monitoring of the existing Gunsan Durability Center and the testing rooms and grounds within the Technology Innovation Center, as well as integrated management of various data.
Additionally, the reliability evaluation building is equipped with a large environmental chamber capable of testing equipment performance in extreme environments ranging from minus 40℃ to plus 80℃, along with various simulators and state-of-the-art testing and measuring equipment.
Furthermore, the Technology Innovation Center plans to conduct various research and tests, including eco-friendly technologies to respond to strengthened exhaust gas regulations, high-efficiency and noise reduction technologies, and the advancement of virtual verification systems.
At the completion ceremony, Gong Gi-young, President of Hyundai Construction Equipment, stated, "Even in the face of an economic downturn, there must be no compromise on investment for quality innovation," adding, "We will drastically improve quality from the development stage to repay the trust of our customers."
