[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it will hold the '2020 Software Week' from the 30th of this month to December 4th to share policy achievements in the software field and to spread the culture of software utilization.
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the Software Week event will be held under the theme "Digital Transformation with Software," featuring a total of about 10 events including the Software Industry Outlook Conference and Technology Development Performance Presentation.
Software Week is a festival in the software field that attracts more than 20,000 participants annually, including not only software professionals but also students and the general public, providing an opportunity to understand software and experience the present and future of the software industry. This year, considering the COVID-19 situation, the event will primarily be conducted in a non-face-to-face format.
However, the 'Software Industry Day' awards ceremony, which encourages companies and developers who have contributed to the development of the domestic software industry, will be held on-site with only the minimum number of attendees, including awardees.
Looking at the main events, on the first day, the 30th, the 'Software Industry Outlook Conference' will be held to discuss the 2021 software industry outlook and response measures. The 'Open Software Festival' will also be held to promote open software development and participation culture.
On December 1st, the SW GO ROUND event will be held to present growth directions for software companies and attract investment through performance presentations by excellent companies. The 'Grand Cloud Conference' will share the outlook and policy status of the cloud industry.
On December 2nd, the 'Regional Software Project Performance Report Meeting' is scheduled to present and share excellent cases and achievements of regional software projects. On December 3rd, the 'Software Safety International Conference 2020' will feature lectures by domestic and international experts in the software safety field.
From December 3rd to 4th, the 'Software Talent Festival' will be held, where achievements of software-centered universities and innovative growth youth talent fostering projects will be confirmed, and excellent works developed by students can be experienced online.
On the last day, December 4th, the 'Software Industry Day' commemorative ceremony will be held to award those who have contributed to the development of the software industry.
