Galaxy Z Flip2 Screen Becomes Clearer and Price Drops

Supports 120Hz Refresh Rate and Thinner Bezels
Expected to Be Unveiled After Q1 Next Year

Galaxy Z Flip2 Screen Becomes Clearer and Price Drops

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The display of the Galaxy Z Flip2 is expected to be clearer and have reduced bezels.

On the 25th (local time), IT tipster Ice Universe predicted via Weibo that the Galaxy Z Flip2 will support a 120Hz refresh rate.

The 'Galaxy Z Fold2,' released last September, supported a 120Hz refresh rate, and it is expected that the display of the Galaxy Z Flip, launching next year, will also adopt this feature, improving the screen compared to its predecessor.

The display refresh rate indicates the number of frames shown per second; the higher it is, the smoother the screen playback becomes when playing high-spec games or watching videos.

Along with this, there are also forecasts that the bezels of the Galaxy Z Flip2 will become thinner and the price will be lower than the previous model. Like the Galaxy Z Fold2, the bezels will be thinner, increasing the display size.

The Galaxy Z Flip series was launched at 1.65 million KRW, but if the price drops to the low to mid 1 million KRW range, it could accelerate the popularization of foldable devices. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Flip2 is expected to include stereo speakers, improving audio quality.

Samsung Electronics plans to hold an Unpacked event in early January next year to unveil the Galaxy S21, but the Galaxy Z Flip2 will be revealed afterward. It is highly likely to be released after the first quarter. This seems to be due to concerns about cannibalization if it were unveiled together with the Galaxy S21.
