Yongsan-gu Operates Winter Break Part-Time Jobs for University Students...Including 4 from B? Quynhon City

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) will operate a winter vacation part-time job program for university students from January 6 to February 2, 2021.

This is to provide students with opportunities for social experience and to experience district administration work.

The work departments include the district office, public health center, and community service centers, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The wage is 53,510 KRW per day (including lunch allowance), and those who complete full attendance can receive 1,284,240 KRW (including paid leave allowance).

The job duties include administrative assistance, data organization, civil service guidance, and data entry.

As of the announcement date (November 23, 2020), any university student registered as a resident in Yongsan-gu (currently enrolled or on leave at a domestic university) can participate in the program. Students who lived in Yongsan with their parents but moved their address elsewhere due to studies are also exceptionally allowed to participate.

Graduate students and those who participated in the 2020 summer vacation part-time job program (previous participants) are not eligible to participate.

The application period is from November 27 to December 4. Applications can be submitted through the 'Citizen Participation' section on the district website. Members must log in, and non-members can apply after identity verification.

The number of selected participants is 40, divided as follows: ▲ Priority selection (4 students, including Vietnamese international students from Quy Nhon at Sookmyung Women's University) ▲ Special selection (13 students, including recipients of national basic livelihood security, low-income families, children of national veterans, multicultural families, and families with three or more children) ▲ General selection (23 students, by computerized lottery).

The district will conduct a public computerized lottery on December 9 and announce the results on December 10 (individual notifications via text message). Registration will take place from December 11 to 16, followed by an orientation on January 6 next year.

Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, "After a preliminary demand survey, university students will be assigned to departments (dong) they wish to work in and the program will be operated accordingly. Participating students will be appointed as 'administrative monitoring agents' to actively reflect youth ideas in administration."
