Creation of 10 Startup Incubation Rooms and Educational Spaces Usable for Startup Training and Various Educational Activities, Including Shared Meeting Rooms... 10 Companies Including Tispoon Currently Occupying After Public Recruitment Last October
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu (center), is having a meeting with resident young entrepreneurs at the Dobong Youth Startup Activity Hub on the 23rd.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) cut the ribbon on the 23rd by creating a hub space for youth startup activities using the fire academy building on Seoul city land.
The district utilized the vacant space left after the Dobong-gu Fire Academy relocated to Eunpyeong-gu to support the dreams of young people by establishing a startup activity hub.
Through this, the district expects a dual benefit of urban regeneration and youth job creation.
The youth startup space covers a total area of 659.6㎡ and includes 10 startup incubation offices as workspaces for young people, an education room that can be used for startup education and various training programs, and shared meeting rooms.
In October, the district publicly recruited young (prospective) entrepreneurs, and currently, 10 companies have moved in.
The resident companies include ▲Tispoon (regional hub cultural creative activities and practical music arrangement) ▲ Bon Art Lab (cultural arts academic research and consulting) ▲Ssikssik (art product development and sales) ▲Gonggan (career counseling and employment consulting) ▲Mamang Basket (local food consignment sales) ▲Good Wellness Tour (health travel specialization) ▲New Ways (region-based individual interior brokerage platform) ▲The Clean General Trading Company (consignment sales of cleaning supplies, etc.) ▲Yesul 1-dong (regional specialized cultural project development) ▲Minomaz (development of integrated women's clothing products).
The resident companies will be stably and continuously supported through ▲space rental ▲customized consulting and startup education ▲networking among residents, aiming to assist young entrepreneurs with diverse and innovative ideas.
The move-in ceremony was held with district officials and resident companies attending, starting with a performance by the young entrepreneurs, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, facility tour, and a meeting.
The event was held in compliance with government quarantine guidelines, minimizing the number of participants, conducting temperature checks, and maintaining social distancing.
Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu shared his own experience of starting a business in his youth, saying, “I realized that entrepreneurship and economic activities are not easy, but if young people do not lose their passion and continue to develop their abilities, good results will come.” He offered sincere encouragement and advice to the youth.
He added, “We will strive to ensure that not only the young people residing in the startup activity hub but also more benefits and support reach local youth.”
