336 New Confirmed Cases as of 6 PM Today
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] New confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) are rapidly increasing across the country.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments on the 25th, a total of 336 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide from midnight to 6 p.m. This is 53 more than the 283 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Since there is still time until midnight, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 0:00 on the 26th is expected to increase further.
In particular, the newly reported cluster infections at the Army 5th Division Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province (at least 60 people) and the aerobics academy in Gangseo-gu, Seoul (at least 48 people) were not included in the 6 p.m. tally. Including these two cases, the total is believed to have already reached the mid-400s.
Excluding these two cases, among the 336 cases in the interim tally by city and province, 216 are in the metropolitan area and 120 are outside the metropolitan area.
By city and province, there are 129 in Seoul, 74 in Gyeonggi, 46 in Gyeongnam, 25 in Busan, 13 in Incheon, 12 in Chungnam, 8 in Jeonnam, 7 in Jeonbuk, 6 in Ulsan, 5 in Chungbuk, 4 in Gwangju, 3 in Gangwon, and 1 each in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Sejong, and Jeju.
