Goheung-gun Supports Masks for Low-Income Vulnerable Groups to Prevent COVID-19

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeonnam, will provide free masks to 5,900 basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income households in the area.

According to Goheung-gun on the 25th, the county distributed 76,000 masks in three phases since March during the COVID-19 spread, and will additionally distribute 65,000 masks, supporting a total of 141,000 health masks to low-income households.

This is a preemptive measure in response to the mandatory mask-wearing administrative order and the recent increase in COVID-19 infection cases centered in the Honam region.

The provided items are MFDS-certified KF94 health masks, with 11 masks distributed per person, delivered to each household through the town and township offices and village chiefs.

When distributing masks, the county plans to strengthen COVID-19 prevention publicity by attaching notices about mask-wearing enforcement and quarantine guidelines.

A county official said, “During the period when COVID-19 is rapidly resurging, we hope everyone will be vigilant again and thoroughly manage personal hygiene,” adding, “We will prepare various support measures for all residents, including the underprivileged, to live safely and healthily.”

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun is focusing on safe facility operation by regularly inspecting compliance with quarantine rules at social welfare facilities frequently used by many people, such as facilities for the disabled, community self-support centers, and senior welfare centers, and by providing facility usage education to users and workers.

In particular, this month, the county is making every effort to prevent the spread of infectious diseases by supporting hygiene management supplies, including 50,000 masks and 2,000 hand sanitizers.
