From the 16th to the 18th, a total of 23 people, including 21 members of the Jinju City Community Leaders Association, 1 public official, and 1 bus driver, went on a training trip to Jeju.
Among them, 14 community leaders and 1 accompanying public official tested positive, and the remaining 4 were family members.
Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il apologized, saying, "I bow my head in apology as public officials and community leaders, who should set an example, have been infected with COVID-19."
On the same day, Jinju City closed the entire 5th floor of the government building where the accompanying official worked, and instructed employees in the same office to work from home.
