[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgi Kim] On the 25th, Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, criticized the suspension of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol by Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, calling it "the most cowardly governance if it was ordered by the president."

In a post on his Facebook on the same day, Rep. Kim said, "If it was not ordered by the president, Minister Chu challenged the president's personnel authority."

He added, "Is the next target Daejeon?" Currently, the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office is investigating allegations of economic manipulation and premature shutdown of the Wolseong Unit 1 nuclear power plant. There is an analysis that if Prosecutor General Yoon's duties are suspended, the investigation into the economic manipulation of Wolseong Unit 1 is likely to be derailed.

Earlier, the previous day, Minister Chu requested disciplinary action against Prosecutor General Yoon and issued an unprecedented order to suspend his duties in constitutional history. Minister Chu cited five disciplinary reasons, including allegations that Prosecutor General Yoon had inappropriate contact with a media company owner.

In response, Prosecutor General Yoon stated, "I will legally respond to this illegal and unfair disposition to the end."
