"Overcoming Job Crisis in AI Data Construction Process" Q3 Best Practice in Proactive Administration

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] An administrative case that fully introduced a crowdsourcing method to contribute to overcoming the job crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) along with the development of the AI industry during the process of promoting the AI learning data construction project was selected as the 'Best Active Administration Case' for the third quarter.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 25th that through the Active Administration Committee held on the 23rd, a total of 10 cases were selected as excellent active administration cases for the third quarter: 2 best cases, 3 excellent cases, and 5 encouragement cases. In the third quarter, cases with high public perception supporting economic revitalization after COVID-19 were mainly listed.

First, the case selected as 'Best' titled 'AI Learning Data Construction Using Crowdsourcing Method to Overcome the Job Crisis' features the full introduction of a public participation crowdsourcing method, breaking away from the previous method of directly hiring a small number of professionals, allowing anyone online to easily participate in data collection and processing. It is expected to create more than 20,000 jobs, about 20 times more than the existing direct hiring method.

Also, the case 'Completing a 5G World in Daily Life by Supplying 5G-grade Wi-Fi' was highly evaluated and selected as 'Best' because it enables the use of 5th generation (5G) mobile communication content such as virtual and augmented reality (VR·AR) and video streaming at low cost through the supply of next-generation 6GHz band frequencies that are five times faster than existing Wi-Fi, contributing to the realization of high-quality data welfare for the public.

The 'Excellent' cases include ▲Promoting proactive regulatory innovation in preparation for VR·AR technology development ▲Comprehensive innovation measures for the distribution network ecosystem of affordable phone service devices to reduce household communication expenses ▲Support for operating a COVID-19 quarantine policy prediction and analysis platform. The 'Encouragement' cases include five cases such as ▲Strengthening protection for 5G users through cooperation with consumer groups, businesses, and experts ▲The National Science Museum’s first public exhibition facility case of building a parking fee settlement system linked with public data in real time.

The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "We plan to expand the discovery of excellent cases and incentives for outstanding public officials to further activate active administration, so that excellent achievements with high public perception can be created through active administration."
