[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 25th that it has launched a new hybrid electric range equipped with ultra-high power induction burners.
The new product features two induction burners, including a burner with a maximum power of 3300 watts (W). The 3300 watts is the highest power in Korea for a single plug-type burner.
This product also includes one highlight burner. Customers can cook with various cookware such as earthenware pots (ttukbaegi).
LG Electronics first launched an induction product with 3300 watts of high power in August. As the ultra-high power received positive responses from customers, sales of the LG Dios 3-burner electric range have increased by nearly 40% compared to the same period last year from August to recently.
LG Electronics is expanding its ultra-high power lineup by introducing the hybrid electric range following the existing Wide Zone induction and 3-burner induction models.
Under the supervision of the international testing and certification organization UL, LG Electronics' tests showed that the 3300-watt high-power LG Dios electric range cooks up to 2.5 times faster than LG Electronics' gas range of the same class (model name: HB622AB).
The cooktop material, Miradur, is also a strength. Miradur glass from Schott, a German specialty glass company, is resistant to scratches.
It also has industry-leading safety features. The new product is equipped with 17 safety systems, including a 220-degree Celsius heat-resistant coil that minimizes damage to the induction coil caused by high temperatures, a 'high-performance insulation material' that protects the coil from heat on the cooktop, and a 'high-voltage and low-voltage protection design' that protects the product when voltage is too low or high.
Based on confidence in its core components and inverter technology, LG Electronics offers a 10-year free warranty on the smart inverter IH (Induction Heating) coil of the Dios electric range.
Yoon Kyung-seok, Vice President and Head of the Kitchen Appliance Division at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "We will expand the ultra-high power product lineup so that customers can experience the convenience unique to the Dios electric range."
