[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Students from the Shilla University Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project Group (GTEP Project Group) won the Excellence Award at the ‘14th GTEP E-commerce Competition’ held on November 20, organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association.

Shilla University received the Excellence Award for the second consecutive year in the same competition.

The ‘14th GTEP E-commerce Competition’ was held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Among 68 participating teams from 20 universities nationwide, 15 teams from 13 universities that passed the preliminary round advanced to the finals to compete.

This competition was organized to share the e-commerce utilization achievements promoted by students belonging to GTEP project groups from universities across the country.

The students presented cases where they registered small and medium-sized enterprise products on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Shopee, and Kmall24, and directly carried out digital marketing as well as logistics and customs clearance.

In this competition, Shilla University’s GTEP Project Group Orange Team (led by student Lee Eun-ah and five others) won the Excellence Award. The Orange Team was evaluated by presenting the e-commerce export experiences and major achievements conducted by the students over the past year.

The Orange Team carried out activities to help local small and medium-sized enterprises struggling to enter overseas markets to pioneer overseas markets.

They collaborated with Toas Co., Ltd., a cosmetics company in the Busan area, conducting market research, entering the Southeast Asian e-commerce platform Shopee, and performing SNS marketing using Hello Talk and Instagram, supporting Toas Co., Ltd.’s entry into the Southeast Asian market.

Lee Eung-seok, head of Shilla University’s GTEP Project Group, said, “We are very pleased that Shilla University’s GTEP Project Group has received the Excellence Award again this year following last year,” adding, “This once again proved the potential and capabilities of the project group, and I hope our students grow into trade experts who travel the world.”
