Gwangju Gwangsan Usan District Police Station Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Public and Abandoned Houses in the Area

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Usan Precinct conducted a comprehensive inspection of vacant and abandoned houses in its jurisdiction.

According to the Gwangsan Police Station on the 24th, this comprehensive inspection was carried out in areas densely populated with vacant and abandoned houses (21 locations) within the Usan Precinct, which are vulnerable to various crimes and safety accidents.

Vacant and abandoned houses in the urban area, which have become eyesores, raise anxiety among nearby residents and are highly likely to be used as places for runaway youths to go astray or as hideouts for criminals.

Accordingly, a comprehensive inspection and diagnosis were conducted with the aim of preemptively blocking crime factors.

Ryu Jepil, chief of the Usan Precinct, said, “We will continue to monitor the status of vacant and abandoned houses and conduct focused community-contact patrols on vulnerable factors. We will strive to create an environment where residents can live with peace of mind by preventing crime and disorder and eliminating fire hazards.”
