Nowon-gu Youth Club Support Project Presentation Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will hold an online presentation on the 29th for the youth club support project ‘Majungmul’ titled ‘Good job, this year too.’

This event is an occasion to encourage and support the 78 youth clubs participating in the project that concludes a year of activities under the ‘Majungmul’ project, which means a bucket of water poured to draw water from a pump.

The presentation will be conducted through the YouTube channel ‘NowonMajungmul’ and will include an opening ceremony, club introductions, activity presentations, performances and lectures, cheerleading, dance, and other club performances.

The clubs presenting will showcase their activities so far using PPT at the Gongneung Youth Culture Information Center, followed by a performance and lecture by singer Kim Bo-kyung.

About 200 members will communicate face-to-face via a video conferencing app.

Singer Kim Bo-kyung, a former contestant of Superstar K who will give the lecture and performance, will share her story under the theme ‘Back in my day’ about how she, as a youth outside of school, developed her dreams and talents to become a singer. After the lecture, she will take questions in real time through chat and the video conferencing app, engaging directly with the youth.

Finally, a kit called ‘Medicine Prescribed to Me’ will be distributed through the institution, where participants create their own prescription medicine by writing encouraging phrases to themselves on a medicine bag containing snacks, as a remedy for their tired selves.

The ‘Majungmul’ project supports selected clubs through interviews by providing 500,000 KRW, allowing youth to independently plan and execute the use of funds for themes such as dance, singing, rap, science, theater, volunteering, sports, and history, thereby helping to enhance their autonomy.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “It is very admirable to see youth forming and engaging in clubs on their own, and I see hope in them. I support all the youth who have overcome this year well and hope they fully express their dreams and talents through club activities.”
