Activities of 50 Childcare Workers Contribute to Filling Childcare Gaps
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 24th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the '2019 National Childcare Service Provider Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The childcare service project dispatches childcare workers to dual-income families with children under the age of 12 to take care of the children.
This project is being promoted to support childcare workers in households experiencing childcare gaps, improve the welfare of children, enhance the quality of life of family members through work-family balance for guardians, and create a child-rearing friendly social environment.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family conducted on-site inspections on 222 childcare service providers nationwide (as of December 31, 2019) regarding their 2019 project performance, safety management, service outcomes, and service provision infrastructure across four areas and 12 evaluation indicators.
As a result, Wando-gun received consistently high scores in all areas and was selected as an excellent childcare service provider.
Wando-gun operates the childcare project by entrusting it to the Healthy Family Multicultural Support Center (Director Kim Haeyong), and this year, 14 childcare workers were trained, bringing the total number of active childcare workers to 50.
A county official stated, “As the demand for childcare services continues to increase daily, we will strive to provide ongoing support and create a safe childcare environment to build harmonious families and a happy Wando for all.”
