[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte World Mall is launching a new concept space to captivate the MZ generation.

On the 24th, Lotte World Mall will open ‘3355’ on the basement level 1, covering approximately 2,500㎡ (750 pyeong). The existing supermarket space is reborn as a complex lifestyle area where visitors can enjoy meals, desserts, and leisure all in one place. ‘3355’ is a curated zone consisting of 16 brands, including dessert and global eateries, as well as classes and hobbies.

A Gathering of Dessert Hotspots Popular Among the MZ Generation

‘3355’ brings together the ‘hip’ hotspots favored by the MZ generation in trendy commercial districts. It has attracted famous stores from areas such as Euljiro and Seongsu-dong. The content is diverse, including unique desserts and drawing experiences for customers.

First, the dessert cafe ‘Bunkasha,’ with its main store in Euljiro, offers fruit sandos filled with strawberries, kiwis, and more between bread slices. ‘Super Matcha,’ specializing in matcha, caters to customers interested in dieting and health. Using domestic Boseong matcha and natural sweeteners, it pursues a healthy sweetness. Customers can enjoy drinks such as matcha latte, chai coconut matcha, and ice cream.

Additionally, ‘3355’ features cafes known for adding emotional value beyond simple coffee. ‘See-Through,’ operated by barista Kangbin Lee who has over 270,000 Instagram followers, adds a visual delight to the coffee drinking experience. ‘Hawaii Saja Factory’ not only decorates its interior exotically but also sells Hawaii Kona coffee, one of the world’s top three coffees. Customers can also purchase ‘Malasada’ donuts made with traditional Hawaiian recipes alongside their coffee.

Other notable stores include ‘Create Cookie,’ a handmade cookie specialty shop famous for gift items; ‘Kitchen205,’ offering fresh strawberry desserts such as cakes, tarts, and parfaits all year round; ‘Whiterie,’ selling raw bread and handmade jams without artificial additives; and ‘Crumb & Crust,’ known for croissants and cream puffs in the Hanam and Misa areas.

Global Food Eateries to Soothe the Disappointment of Not Traveling Abroad

In response to the inability to travel overseas due to COVID-19, numerous global restaurants have landed in ‘3355’ to comfort food lovers. The selection includes Southeast Asian cuisine, Mexican, Chinese, and healthy options such as Hawaiian salads.

‘Eaters,’ a casual Mexican food specialty store known as Korea’s Chipotle (the American Mexican food franchise), and ‘Chop Chop,’ which reinterprets Vietnamese cuisine to suit Korean tastes, are relocating from Bundang and Euljiro respectively. ‘Manok,’ a new concept restaurant by Chef Bangnyeong Yoo, a master of the four major Chinese culinary schools, operating ‘Sinchai,’ is scheduled to open in December.

Also, ‘Hooked Poke,’ a Hawaiian raw fish salad ‘poke’ restaurant featured on the TV show ‘Wednesday Food Talk,’ welcomes customers who prefer healthy food. The brunch specialty ‘Little Park’ offers homemade-style sandwiches, French toast, and granola yogurt bowls.

Beyond food, a resting space for hobbies and leisure is also prepared.

At the drawing cafe ‘Seongsu Art Museum,’ visitors can easily try their hand at painting. ‘ABC Cooking Studio,’ which runs cooking classes, has relocated from the 5th floor to ‘3355’ and reopened with renovations. To celebrate the reopening, a promotional event offers a ‘sample lesson’ where customers can try simple menus at a 50% discount for 10,000 won until December. ‘Fresh,’ popular in Hapjeong, offers shopping for products such as perfumes, candles, diffusers, as well as fashion items like T-shirts, pouches, and eco-bags.

Along with this, Lotte World Mall is creating photo spots within ‘3355.’ The store entrance photo zone is decorated with a pink-toned harmony and lighting. Inside, walls in various colors including purple are equipped with neon LED lights to create a retro-style photo zone.

Kim Jaeyoon, Team Leader of Leasing Team 2 at Lotte Asset Development, explained, “We have prepared a space where you can encounter ‘hip items’ and trends from popular commercial districts like Hipjiro all in one place. We want customers to communicate with others through the 3355 content and create their own stories.”
