[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The pedestrian pathways in the Banghwa 6 Redevelopment Promotion Zone around 608-9 Banghwa-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, will be improved, and the rooftop area of the neighborhood living facilities will be developed into a resting space.
Seoul City announced on the 24th that it conditionally approved the amendment plan for the Banghwa 6 Zone Redevelopment Promotion Plan at the 12th Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting. This project involves constructing 10 apartment buildings with 555 units (based on the alternative design plan) ranging from three basement floors to 16 above-ground floors, along with auxiliary welfare facilities in the Banghwa 6 Zone area. The construction company is HDC Hyundai Development Company, and the construction cost is approximately 141 billion KRW.
With this review, the building layout in Banghwa 6 Zone has been connected with Banghwa 5 Zone and Magokseo-ro, securing an east-west directional open axis, and public pedestrian pathways have also been linked, improving walking convenience for nearby residents. Additionally, the level differences between surrounding sidewalks and within the complex have been eliminated to maintain continuity of pedestrian spaces, and emergency vehicle routes connected to pedestrian entrances have been improved, considering safety. The rooftop area of the neighborhood living facilities will be developed into green and resting spaces, focusing on community recovery through shared community facilities in communication with the local area.
A Seoul City official stated, "We plan to proceed with the approval process for changes to the project implementation plan."
