[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KOTRA announced on the 24th that it will hold the '2020 Global Project Plaza' for two days starting from the 25th. This event, now in its 14th year, will be conducted online.
The online project briefing and consultation will feature 45 project owners from 17 countries. Eighty domestic companies will participate. Both sides plan to discuss projects worth $31.3 billion across 52 projects.
In the online briefing, 13 overseas project owners will introduce their projects through self-produced video materials. KOTRA aims to enhance domestic companies' understanding of the projects and improve outcomes.
During the online consultation, our companies showed particular interest in renewable energy and transportation projects in Southeast Asia, Oceania, and Latin America. This reflects the global trend toward green energy use and emerging countries' investments in transportation infrastructure. The scale of renewable energy and transportation projects in this consultation amounts to $26.7 billion.
Additionally, to activate our companies' participation in overseas investment and development-type projects, an online briefing on Vietnam's Public-Private Partnership (PPP) legislation will be held. It is expected to help establish bidding strategies based on an understanding of the Vietnamese investment and development project market.
Kwon Pyung-oh, President of KOTRA, stated, "Due to COVID-19, activities such as on-site surveys and bid participation are difficult, so we will do our best to support through non-face-to-face business." He added, "We will also put more effort into discovering promising overseas renewable energy projects to support the Green New Deal policy."
