'Online Smart Manufacturing Machinery Industry Exhibition' Yeongdeungpo-gu Joint Pavilion Opens

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) has set up a Yeongdeungpo joint pavilion at the ‘2020 Online Smart Manufacturing Machinery Industry Exhibition,’ held from the 24th to December 31, to promote the excellence of Mullae-dong’s machinery and metal industry and to support marketing and sales channel development by exhibiting and commercializing metal products from Mullae-dong.

The ‘2020 Online Smart Manufacturing and Machinery Industry Exhibition’ is an internationally scaled machinery and metal industry fair organized by Incheon Tourism Organization, Gyeonggi-Incheon Machinery Industry Cooperative, and Messe Isang. It introduces smart factory solutions, the core of digital industrialization, and the overall metal manufacturing industry, the foundation of Korea’s manufacturing sector. The event includes public institution purchasing consultations, conferences and seminars by field experts, and one-on-one export consultations with invited overseas buyers, leading efforts to expand the domestic market and develop export channels.

This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and in line with the transition to an untact and digital era, the exhibition is held online. Those wishing to visit the exhibition can easily do so by accessing the official website of the Smart Manufacturing Machinery Industry Exhibition.

In September, the district recruited metal manufacturing companies located in Mullae-dong capable of producing prototypes, finished products, and parts to participate in the exhibition. Subsequently, based on selection criteria such as growth potential as a representative brand symbolizing Yeongdeungpo and Mullae-dong, originality of ideas, and new product development capabilities, a total of 10 companies were finally selected.

The selected companies are introduced in the ‘Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Joint Pavilion’ and matched with target buyers and domestic and international industry stakeholders for product purchase consultations.

The participating companies include ▲‘Gukje Geumsoksangsa’ with water quality management systems applying various sensors such as turbidity meters and electrical conductivity meters ▲‘Booyoung Metal’ with comprehensive non-ferrous processed products such as copper alloys and AL alloys ▲‘Sam-il Jeonggong’ with extruders and industrial cylinder heaters ▲‘SS Sports’ with bearing lock system canes ▲‘Youngshin Precision Industry’ with can seamers ▲‘Wooyoung Machinery’ with wire rope lubricators, crane rail lubricators, and grease pump manufacturing technology ▲‘Hanbit Tech Lab’ with one-point electric weed removers ▲‘Hyundai CNC’ with 4-axis grinders equipped with noiseless and dust-free cooling devices ▲‘Hyunsung Tool Tech’ with milling, lathes, and special cutting tools representing nine companies, and ▲the ‘Seoul Small Business Association’ also participates to showcase Mullae-dong’s excellent machinery and metal infrastructure.

Additionally, the district fully supports the participation fees required for the online exhibition, produces promotional videos for each company, and helps expand product promotion and marketing channels.

Furthermore, it plans to establish a network with purchasing officers from public institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon regions and provide interpreters for export consultation meetings for companies matched with export buyers.

Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “I hope this online exhibition will provide practical help in opening sales channels and promoting products for the Mullae-dong metal manufacturing industry, which is struggling due to COVID-19. We will do our best to strengthen the fundamental competitiveness of the metal manufacturing industry, secure domestic and international market distribution networks, and support promotion through various support measures to revitalize the Mullae-dong machinery and metal industry.”
