[Comprehensive] Entertainment Industry in Turmoil as Supporting Actor Tests Positive... Filming Suspended One After Another Citizens who visited the screening clinic are waiting for their tests.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The entertainment industry was thrown into chaos as a drama extra tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

On the 23rd, a JTBC official stated, "One extra from the JTBC drama 'Sisyphus: The Myth,' who was at the filming site of the drama 'Bossam' where a COVID-19 case occurred, tested positive for COVID-19 on the 23rd."

They added, "Upon learning of the extra's positive COVID-19 diagnosis, 'Sisyphus' immediately halted all filming," and "Actors and staff who were at the same site as the COVID-19 positive staff are undergoing testing one after another."

It was reported that the lead actors of 'Sisyphus,' Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, did not overlap in their movements with the confirmed case but underwent COVID-19 testing as a precautionary measure.

Park Shin-hye's agency, Salt Entertainment, stated, "Although actress Park Shin-hye did not overlap in movements with the 'Sisyphus' extra who tested positive, she underwent testing as a precaution and is currently awaiting the results."

The drama 'Bossam' also conducted diagnostic tests for actors and staff following the news of the extra's COVID-19 positive diagnosis.

The lead actors of 'Bossam,' Jung Il-woo and Kwon Yuri, were tested for COVID-19 and fortunately received negative results.

Another extra who overlapped in movements with the COVID-19 positive extra also tested positive. This extra appears in the SBS drama 'Joseon Exorcist,' leading to COVID-19 diagnostic tests for the cast and staff of 'Joseon Exorcist,' and filming has been suspended.

The lead actors of 'Joseon Exorcist,' including Gam Woo-sung, Jang Dong-yoon, Park Sung-hoon, Jeon No-min, and Jang Dong-yoon, along with all actors and staff, have entered self-quarantine. The 'Joseon Exorcist' team stated, "We are complying with the health authorities' guidelines," and "We will do our utmost to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the cast and staff."

Gam Woo-sung's agency WIP said, "Actor Gam Woo-sung is currently in self-quarantine. COVID-19 testing will be conducted when instructed," and "All actors are in self-quarantine, and we are monitoring the situation."

Park Sung-hoon's agency BH Entertainment stated, "Actor Park Sung-hoon did not overlap in movements with the confirmed case," and "He is in self-quarantine according to the production company's safety guidelines. No testing has been conducted."

Jeon No-min and Jang Dong-yoon have also entered self-quarantine. It is reported that they have not yet undergone testing.

An extra from the drama 'River Where the Moon Rises' was also classified as a close contact, leading to the suspension of filming for that drama.

The production team of the drama 'The Uncanny Counter' canceled the press conference scheduled for the 23rd after a suspected COVID-19 case emerged from 'River Where the Moon Rises,' which used the same set.

In the Netflix original series 'I Hope the Earth Breaks Tomorrow,' an extra was classified as a close contact, prompting COVID-19 testing for the extra and production staff.

However, since all production staff who had contact with the COVID-19 positive individual at the filming site tested negative, filming is expected to proceed as scheduled.
