Hotel Convention Management Major Team Wins Excellence Award, Encouragement Award, and Supporters Award at Northeast Asia Tourism Society Seminar
From November 6 to 8, the team of Lee Hye-rim, Lee Sang-won, Go Yoo-jung, and Choi Min-woo, majoring in Hotel Convention Management at Dong-Eui University, won the Excellence Award at the "2020 Northeast Asia Culture and Tourism International Seminar" held at Andong Grand Hotel and other venues.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Students majoring in Hotel Convention Management at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) won the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the "2020 Northeast Asia Cultural Tourism International Seminar" held by the Northeast Asia Tourism Association (President Lee Eung-jin) from November 6 to 8 at Andong Grand Hotel and around Andong City.
The international university student competition of this seminar, held under the theme "Gyeongbuk Culture and Global Cultural Tourism Strategy," was conducted in a non-face-to-face online format where students created presentation materials as videos, uploaded them to a web hard drive, and experts conducted evaluations.
In this competition focused on Andong regional cultural tourism, Dong-Eui University Hotel Convention Management majors Lee Hye-rim, Lee Sang-won, Go Yoo-jung, and Choi Min-woo received the Excellence Award for their project titled "Talowin."
The team of Lee Chae-eun, Kim Min-jung, Lee Do-hyun, Jung Yeon-hee, and Joo Jung-wook from Dong-Eui University, who won the Encouragement Award at the '2020 Northeast Asia Culture and Tourism International Seminar' held from November 6 to 8 at Andong Grand Hotel and other venues.
Lee Chae-eun, Kim Min-jung, Lee Do-hyun, Jung Yeon-hee, and Joo Jung-wook received the Encouragement Award for "Restart Andong: Rewriting Travel in the COVID Era."
Kim Min-jung, Lee Do-hyun, Lee Chae-eun, and Jung Yeon-hee, second-year students majoring in Hotel Convention Management at Dong-Eui University, participated in the Andong Tourism Supporters Group for one night and two days, designing Andong tourism and conducting on-site surveys. They proposed "directions for cultural tourism that are enjoyable, fun, and vibrant, sought by the younger generation," and received the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Award, the grand prize for university student supporters.

The Northeast Asia Tourism Association has been holding international academic conferences rotating among six Northeast Asian countries?Korea, China, Japan, North Korea, Russia, and Mongolia?since 2004.
This academic conference served as an opportunity to propose various tourism policy directions for Gyeongbuk tourism after COVID-19 and to confirm Gyeongbuk's status in international exchanges aimed at cultural tourism.
