[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Daily Blockchain (hereinafter DBC), a specialized ICT solution company based on 4th industrial revolution technologies, is entering the smart farm market.
On the 23rd, DBC announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Future Agriculture Forum, a corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, aimed at establishing a cooperative relationship for building smart agriculture infrastructure.
Through this MOU, DBC will play a central role in the Future Agriculture Forum's smart farm technology development for agricultural automation. The company plans to apply advanced 4th industrial revolution technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain to develop related solutions.
Jo Youngjoong, CEO of DBC, stated, “DBC has made multifaceted efforts in core technology research and development over the past several years and has succeeded this year in internalizing comprehensive 4th industrial revolution technologies centered on blockchain, including AI, big data, and IoT. Taking this MOU as an opportunity, we plan to establish a close collaborative work system with the Future Agriculture Forum and expand various businesses, including the development of optimized solutions for smart farm facilities, which are expected to play a pivotal role in future agriculture.”
The Future Agriculture Forum was launched last month with the purpose of laying the foundation for agricultural technology innovation based on the convergence of 4th industrial revolution technologies and discovering sustainable smart agriculture projects. The forum, with Lee Gwijae, Vice President for External Cooperation at Jeonbuk National University, elected as its inaugural chairman, is making various efforts, including close cooperation among industry, academia, research, and government sectors to create a smart farm innovation valley.
