[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A conservative civic group criticized Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, saying "strange behavior continues endlessly," and announced, "To sound the alarm against the 'flower politics' of the Ministry of Justice under Choo Mi-ae, we are starting a campaign to send condolence wreaths reading 'Condolences (謹弔) to Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae' in front of the Gwacheon Ministry of Justice building."
On the 22nd, the conservative civic group Liberty Solidarity issued a press release stating, "We have reported holding a rally condemning Minister Choo Mi-ae at the Gwacheon Police Station and displaying condolence wreaths in front of the main gate of the Government Complex."
They further criticized, "The political idea of sending a regular prosecutor to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office to investigate Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl is the final operation by the ruling party, government, and Blue House united to take down Prosecutor General Yoon."
The wreaths they sent bore phrases such as "Resign Choo Mi-ae," "Pathetic Ministers of Justice," "If you are tired and lonely, rest at home," and "We express our deepest condolences to the soulless Ministry of Justice."
A representative of the group said, "We plan to display condolence wreaths in front of the Ministry of Justice for about two weeks starting today," adding, "Currently, 19 wreaths have been installed in front of the Ministry of Justice, and more will come."
They also added, "Minister Choo Mi-ae is abusing her authority unfairly by conducting inspections and is threatening Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl to leave easily. Minister Choo keeps boasting about the flowers she has received, but we installed condolence wreaths to show the true public sentiment that the rule of law, democracy, and the Ministry of Justice are dying."

Earlier, on the 19th, Minister Choo Mi-ae posted on her SNS, "Do you know the flower path of the Ministry of Justice that never fades?" along with a photo of flower baskets she received from supporters.
The photo showed flower baskets lined up side by side in front of the building entrance and along both sides of the office corridor, with messages supporting Minister Choo such as "We support you," "Take care of your health," and "Cheer up," as well as Minister Choo watching them with a pleased expression.
Some have speculated that this was intended as a "counter-promotion" targeting Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, who recently received over 350 wreaths.
