[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, criticized the government's 24th real estate measure on the 19th, saying, "The real estate policies announced so far have never achieved their intended goals," and "It has been about 100 days since the implementation of the three lease laws. The real estate market has been devastated, and apartment prices in some areas have nearly doubled compared to last year."

At the Emergency Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kim said, "There is a very strong voice demanding the immediate withdrawal of the regressive real estate laws that indiscriminately impose regulations on both homeowners and non-homeowners alike."

Chairman Kim pointed out, "I thought Lee Nak-yeon, the Democratic Party leader, admitted policy failure with his remarks, but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the so-called 'hotel chance'?turning hotel rooms into monthly rentals?which I had never heard or seen before, misleading the public."

Chairman Kim stated, "No matter how many policies are announced, if there is no hope of stabilizing the real estate market, the government should rather give up on real estate policies and leave everything to the market."

Regarding the increase in new COVID-19 cases, Chairman Kim said, "Last month, sporadic group infections occurred, and the quarantine authorities warned of an increase in confirmed cases, but the government issued consumption coupons worth 10 million people," adding, "It is no exaggeration to say that the government itself caused the quarantine crisis by implementing a pathetic contradictory policy."

Chairman Kim said, "Similar issues are approached politically with selective responses, leading to repeated mistakes. In some cases, thorough control was enforced prioritizing public safety, while in others, a lax attitude was shown. I cannot help but ask whether the rights of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (Minju Nochong) were prioritized over public safety during their rally."
