KATS Hosts the 46th 'National Quality Management Competition'... A Total of 447 Awards Presented

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Jeong Sun-il, CEO of Saehan Electronics, and other industry officials will receive medals at the 'National Quality Management Competition.'
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's National Institute of Technology and Standards announced that on the 19th at 2 p.m., the '46th National Quality Management Competition' will be held at COEX in Seoul, attended by Prime Minister Jeong Sye-kyun, Vice Minister Park Jin-gyu, quality management contributors, and about 50 others.
This competition is a gathering of industry workers who have contributed to improving industrial competitiveness by discovering and awarding contributors and excellent companies that have created outstanding management results through quality management innovation activities. It has been held annually since 1975.
This year, a total of 447 awards were given. Six medals and orders, 18 Presidential citations, 13 Prime Minister citations, and 24 Minister citations were awarded to contributors and organizations who contributed to quality management.
The Silver Tower Industrial Medal was awarded to CEO Jeong. He was recognized for boldly transforming the business from traditional declining industries to the manufacturing of core electrical, electronic, and metal material parts, continuously innovating quality and contributing to national economic development.
Kim Jeong-nam, Vice Chairman and CEO of DB Insurance, received the Iron Tower Industrial Medal, and Jeong Sang-bong, CEO of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Fuel, received the Stone Tower Industrial Medal.
Group awards went to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. Innovation awards by sector were given to six companies including SK Hynix and the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service. These companies were evaluated for quality innovation activities such as creating social value and service innovation.
The 'National Quality Management Competition' selects 'National Quality Masters' and 'Excellent Quality Improvement Teams,' awarding certificates or medals in the name of the President.
A total of 23 people, including Je Seung-mo, Chief at Jeongseok Chemical, received the 'National Quality Master' title. A total of 304 teams, including the Hanwha Total Medical Team, were selected as medal recipients in 15 categories of 'Quality Improvement Teams.'
The National Institute of Technology and Standards stated, "This year's event had limited in-person participation due to COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Awardees who could not attend onsite participated in real-time online, making efforts to hold the event at a scale similar to previous years."
