[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Comedian Lee Se-young confessed the reason why she decided to undergo double eyelid surgery.
On the 17th, Lee Se-young uploaded a video titled "Comedian Lee Se-young Double Eyelid Surgery" on her YouTube channel.
In the video, Lee Se-young opened up, saying, "The roles I played as a comedian were always funny. I played men, drew beards, wore funny makeup, and even bald caps. I took great pride and joy in my job of making people laugh as a comedian."
She continued, "Since this is a profession where you are evaluated by the public, there were many comments about my appearance. They said things like 'You look like a man,' 'You're ugly,' 'How did a kid like that come from your parents?' and 'Your eyes look like 10:10.' These were all derogatory remarks about my face."
She added, "You might think it's simple to just quit if you don't like it, but I think I kept getting hurt emotionally. These days, I receive many positive comments, but I decided to have surgery to overcome the complex I had inside."
Meanwhile, Lee Se-young debuted in 2011 as part of MBN's first public recruitment of comedians and appeared on tvN's "SNL Korea" and "Comedy Big League," among others.
