Presentation focusing on minimizing time and manpower required for post-management of local taxes

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 18th that it won the 'Grand Prize' at the 2020 Local Tax Development Forum Research Project Presentation Contest held in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Local Tax Development Forum is held annually with the participation of tax experts such as researchers, academic societies, and public officials related to local taxes to build consensus on local tax policy issues, and to strengthen local tax policy capabilities through local tax seminars and research project presentations by local governments.
At the Development Forum presentation contest, the evaluation was conducted comprehensively considering creativity, practicality, effectiveness, and logicality of research projects submitted from 17 cities and provinces.
The county achieved the great success of winning the grand prize by presenting “Post-Management of Tax Reduction Using AI Algorithm,” mainly focusing on preventing tax complaints due to tax recovery after local tax reduction and minimizing the time and manpower required for post-management, presented by Finance Department Officer Lee Ji-hong.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “I am very pleased to achieve good results once again following the grand prize in 2018,” and urged, “We ask that you actively develop policies to minimize taxpayer inconvenience and improve administrative efficiency through continuous research and work study in the future.”
