Shinhan Financial Group Holds 3rd SheHeroes Conference: "Women Leaders Are Heroes"

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Shinhan Financial Group announced on the 18th that it held the 3rd Shinhan SHeroes (SHeroes) Conference.

SHeroes is a compound word of She and Hero, referring to Shinhan Financial's group-level female leader development program launched in 2018. Since its inception, the program has expanded its scope and scale every year and has continuously upgraded its professionalism.

This year, the 3rd Shinhan SHeroes expanded its target beyond Seoul and the Gyeonggi area to include regional areas, selecting and nurturing a total of 67 participants. Various programs were conducted to strengthen capabilities as female leaders, including coaching leadership, mentoring activities, and academies to broaden insights.

The conference held the previous day at the headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by about 300 people, including Shinhan Financial Chairman Cho Yong-byeong, female department heads and above, and mid-level female leaders. Following the government's social distancing guidelines, only a minimal number of people attended on-site, and the event was conducted online via YouTube.

Chairman Cho said, “Throughout Shinhan's growth process to become a leading financial group, outstanding female leaders have always been with us. I hope they continue to demonstrate their abilities as female leaders in various fields within the group and also share their knowledge and experience with juniors to help them become great leaders.”
