[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeong-pil] Three fishermen, including Mr. A, who were stranded by the rising tide on the rocky shore near Yeondae Port in Jeju City, were rescued by the Jeju Coast Guard.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station, at around 9:35 a.m. on the 15th, three fishermen, including Mr. A, were stranded by the rising tide on the rocky shore near Yeondae Port in Jeju City and requested rescue. The Jeju Coast Guard immediately dispatched the Jeju Substation and rescue team, and using rescue boards, they jointly rescued all three fishermen from both sea and land at around 10:17 a.m.
The three stranded fishermen, including Mr. A, are residents of Jeju Island. They had entered the rocky shore on foot around 6:30 a.m. during low tide to fish, but when the tide rose and stranded them, they requested rescue. After the rescue, all of them wished to return home on their own and were allowed to do so.
Meanwhile, the Jeju Coast Guard urged, “When fishing on rocky shores away from the mainland, for your life and safety, always wear a life jacket and check the times of high and low tides in advance.”
