Lotte Department Store Konkuk Star City Branch to Host Social Economy Pop-up Store from 13th to 19th... Gwangjin-gu Social Economy Joint Brand 'Senaru' Developed Last October
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is striving to create a sustainable social economy ecosystem by enhancing the awareness of social economy enterprises and expanding their market channels.
First, from the 13th to the 19th, the district will hold a "Social Economy Enterprise Pop-up Store" on the B1 floor of Lotte Department Store Konkuk Star City branch.
This pop-up store is organized to expand the market channels of local social economy enterprises into the private sector and to help excellent social economy enterprises secure customers. This is the second time following last year.
The participating companies this time include four Gwangjin-gu social economy enterprises: Hwayu Flower & Horticultural Therapy Center, Play That, Junggok Jeil Market Ari Clean Cooperative, and Korea Aromatherapy Lifestyle Cooperative, as well as two social ventures nurtured at Konkuk University, 119 Leo and Sailors.
Featured products include Christmas decorative horticultural products, art products by emerging artists, domestically produced sesame oil and perilla oil, low-temperature cured soaps and aroma products, bags and pouches recycled from firefighter uniforms, and tote bags.
This pop-up store is significant as it was promoted through the collaboration between Gwangjin-gu and Lotte Department Store Konkuk Star City branch. In particular, the B1 floor location where the pop-up store is held has a high foot traffic, which is expected to generate great promotional effects.
Along with this, Gwangjin-gu developed the social economy joint brand "Senaru" last October to improve the awareness of products and services of social economy enterprises and strengthen product competitiveness.
The "Se" in "Senaru" represents the English abbreviation of Social Economy (SE) and the number 3, which symbolizes three elements: social value, Gwangjin economy, and cooperation. "Naru" is derived from "Gwangnaru," a place where logistics come and go, expressing the status of Gwangjin as a hub mediating human and material resources in the social economy sector and as a platform.
Going forward, the district plans to plan and launch products under the joint brand "Senaru," enhance the competitiveness of social economy enterprises, and actively promote them.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "Various social economy enterprises are active in Gwangjin-gu to realize diverse social values through products and services. If social economy enterprises produce high-quality products and services, the district will cooperate with local universities and companies to enable more residents to access social economy enterprise products."
