[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Former Future United Party lawmaker Yoo Seung-min strongly criticized the large-scale people's rally on the 14th, saying, "What does it matter if quarantine is conservative or progressive? The Moon Jae-in administration, which only divided the people, is even dividing quarantine measures."

On the 13th, former lawmaker Yoo said on Facebook, "Tomorrow (the 14th), 100,000 people are expected to gather in major cities nationwide for the National People's Rally and the National Workers' Rally," adding, "There were 51 people right before the Liberation Day rally and 71 people right before the National Foundation Day rally."

He continued, "Yesterday, there were as many as 191 new COVID-19 cases," and criticized, "Recently, the number of new cases has been increasing in triple digits, but while the Moon Jae-in government built a 'reinforcement wall' and issued rally bans and prosecuted participants for the Liberation Day and National Foundation Day rallies, there are no measures for tomorrow's rally."

He added sarcastically, "The Blue House said that the third quarter GDP decreased by 0.5 percentage points due to the Liberation Day rally when there were 51 confirmed cases. By that logic, tomorrow's rally with 191 confirmed cases will eat away 2 percentage points from the fourth quarter GDP," and said, "The government must take proper measures."

Meanwhile, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) has announced a nationwide people's rally in downtown Seoul on the 14th. The KCTU will hold rallies with about 15,000 participants across 61 locations including Yeouido and downtown Seoul, as well as 12 regional sites.
