[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) signed the first-ever 'Work-Life Balance Governance No. 1' agreement with Seoul City at the '2nd Work-Life Balance Expo' held on the 12th at the Seoul Women's Family Foundation International Conference Hall, becoming the first autonomous district in Seoul to do so.
The 'Seoul Work-Life Balance Expo' is an event hosted by Seoul City and organized by the Seoul Women's Family Foundation to create a work-life balance environment and spread the work-life balance culture through discovering Seoul's work-life balance policy tasks and awarding excellent companies in work-life balance.
Through the agreement with Seoul City on this day, the district pledged to realize the balance between work and life in the region and to effectively operate public-private cooperation governance for this purpose.
Also, through the proclamation ceremony held on the same day, Geumcheon-gu was declared as Work-Life Balance Governance No. 1, and by declaring support practices for work-life balance in the region together with local cooperative organizations, it strengthened its commitment.
The institutions that participated in the governance alongside Seoul City and Geumcheon-gu and pledged to practice support for work-life balance include ▲Seoul Southwest Workplace Mom Support Center ▲Southern Women's Development Center ▲Geumcheon G-Valley Sustainable Growth Council ▲Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association ▲Geumcheon-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center ▲Geumcheon-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center ▲Seoul Workers' Health Center ▲IT Women Entrepreneurs Association, among others.
Going forward, the Geumcheon-gu Work-Life Balance Governance plans to promote and support local companies simultaneously to help spread a work-life balance culture where work and life are balanced in the region.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I am very pleased that Geumcheon-gu was selected as the first Work-Life Balance Governance No. 1 among Seoul's autonomous districts," and added, "Next year, we will do our best to develop Geumcheon-gu into an innovative city leading work-life balance by carefully reviewing changing family types, generational perceptions, and labor conditions in line with the post-COVID-19 era."
