Junggyeonryeon Holds the '6th Junggyeon Entrepreneurs' Day Ceremony'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The largest annual event in the mid-sized enterprise sector is set to take place. The Korea Federation of Mid-sized Enterprises, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced that it will hold the "6th Mid-sized Entrepreneurs' Day Ceremony" on the 18th at Lotte Hotel Seoul under the slogan "Mid-sized Enterprises Leading the Rebound of the Korean Economy through Solidarity and Cooperation."
At the ceremony, government awards will be presented to mid-sized entrepreneurs who have contributed to the development of Korea's economy and industry, and the "Mid-sized Enterprise Growth Tower" will be awarded to companies that have grown into mid-sized enterprises through continuous innovation efforts. A corporate spirit forum will also be held, focusing on innovation case presentations by Nepes, a semiconductor packaging specialist, and Huons Global, a global healthcare specialist, to share the value of entrepreneurship and technological innovation know-how.
The Federation of Mid-sized Enterprises has held the Mid-sized Entrepreneurs' Day ceremony annually since 2015 to commemorate the enforcement of the "Special Act on Mid-sized Enterprises" on July 22, 2014, and the launch of the Federation as a statutory organization. Since the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy designated the third week of November as the statutory Mid-sized Enterprise Week in 2018, the ceremony has been held in conjunction with various mid-sized enterprise-related events during that week. During Mid-sized Enterprise Week, various events will be held, including the "Mid-sized Enterprises-Startup Digital Transformation Win-Win Lounge" hosted by the Federation, the "2020 Mid-sized Enterprise Innovation International Conference" hosted by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, and the "Mid-sized Enterprises-Public Research Institutes Korean New Deal Technology Innovation Cooperation Declaration Ceremony."
Kang Ho-gap, Chairman of the Federation, stated, "Amid the overwhelming fear of COVID-19, it has become clear that organic solidarity and cooperation among various innovation actors are essential for the survival and rebound of not only the Korean community but humanity as a whole." He added, "The mid-sized enterprise sector will take the lead in fostering mutually beneficial cooperation across industries and lay the economic and cultural foundation for Korea to stand tall again in the post-COVID era."
Chairman Kang also emphasized, "We will actively respond to government policy efforts to enhance mid-sized enterprise capabilities, such as digital transformation and fostering mid-sized enterprises in materials, parts, and equipment, and work closely with the business community, government, National Assembly, and other sectors to create a healthy industrial ecosystem based on solidarity and cooperation."
