[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Association of Medium & Large Business (KAMLB) held the "11th Medium & Large Business Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Council" on the 11th at Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam, discussing effective open innovation strategies for technological innovation in medium & large businesses, focusing on the utilization of the Korean-style technology problem-solving platform "K-Tech Navi."

The council, held under the theme "Technological Innovation in Medium & Large Businesses Centered on Open Innovation Strategy," was attended by over 30 CTOs from medium & large companies such as Taeyang Metal Industry and Chemtronics, who exchanged opinions. KAMLB shared the operational progress of K-Tech Navi, a Korean-style technology problem-solving platform, and introduced future plans to promote the spread of innovation cases. After a six-month pilot operation period, K-Tech Navi officially opened in June this year with KAMLB as the dedicated agency. As of November, about 1,550 technology experts from 20 fields including information & communication and electrical & electronics are participating.

Kim Jong-gap, Executive Director of Taeyang Metal Industry and chair of the council, said, "I hope this serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the importance and value of open innovation as a driving force for innovation to many medium & large business people seeking new growth strategies amid the COVID-19 crisis," adding, "We will do our best to develop the council into a central win-win network for technological innovation in medium & large businesses."

Park Jong-won, Head of Business Division at KAMLB, emphasized, "To prepare for the post-COVID-19 era, we will actively discover substantial programs to enhance the research and development capabilities of medium & large businesses and resolve technological innovation difficulties," and added, "Since creating a legal and institutional environment suitable for the changed environment is essential for stable business operations, we will strengthen communication with various sectors to bring about practical changes."
