Com2uS Reports Record High Q3 Revenue of 128.2 Billion KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Com2uS announced on the 11th that it recorded sales of 128.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 26.4 billion KRW in the third quarter. Sales increased by 10.4% compared to the previous year, marking the highest third-quarter performance ever. Operating profit decreased by 15.8% compared to the previous year.

Com2uS's strong performance was driven by global sales. Overseas sales in the third quarter amounted to 102.7 billion KRW, accounting for 80% of the total. Sales grew by 23% year-on-year in Western markets such as North America and Europe, contributing to the results.

Com2uS's flagship title, "Summoners War: Sky Arena," succeeded in popularity through collaboration with the global game intellectual property (IP) "Street Fighter." The baseball game lineup based on licenses from Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) also achieved the highest quarterly results, driving the strong performance.

Com2uS plans to solidify the performance of its major games while preparing growth engines through global new releases and active mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Previously, Com2uS acquired the German game company "Out of the Park Developments (OOTP)" last month, strengthening its capabilities in sports management game development.

The global blockbuster game using the Summoners War IP, "Summoners War: Hundred Years' War," will begin testing for users worldwide on the 21st, launching its global market attack. A Com2uS official said, "We plan to continue active M&A and investment activities to enhance our status as a global game company."

Gamevil, a sibling company of Com2uS, recorded sales of 34.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 5.5 billion KRW in the third quarter. Sales increased by 3.5% year-on-year, and operating profit turned positive. Gamevil's "Pro Baseball 2020 Superstars" expanded its service in regions such as Japan, the United States, and Taiwan, increasing sales. Additionally, "MLB Perfect Inning 2020" contributed to steady performance with content linked to the MLB league schedule.
