Brand Premium, Specialized Design, and Outstanding Views Combined in 'Ssangyong The Platinum Wando' Draw Attention

According to the real estate industry, this month, 10 skyscraper apartment complexes with more than 35 floors above ground, totaling 10,001 households, will be consecutively offered for sale. Ultra-high-rise apartments are large complexes with abundant amenities and excellent views, attracting high interest from buyers. High-rise complexes boast expansive views, symbolic scale, and striking exteriors, showing distinctive market prices and subscription competition rates.


Ultra-high-rise apartments have excellent views and sunlight exposure, resulting in high satisfaction among buyers, and many large-scale complexes often become regional landmarks. Even when the same floor area ratio is applied as other apartments with different floor counts, high-rise complexes have lower building coverage ratios, allowing for spacious landscaping areas and various community facilities. Therefore, ultra-high-rise apartments have recently shown good subscription results.


In May, ‘Hwaseo Station Prugio Brichiel’ in Jeongja-dong, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province, which has the highest floor at 41 stories, attracted 18,262 applicants in the first priority local subscription for 452 households excluding special supply, closing with an average competition rate of 40.4 to 1. In June, ‘Hillstate Uijeongbu Station’ in Uijeongbu-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province, with the highest floor at 49 stories, also closed in the first priority with an average competition rate of 46.95 to 1. The Sharp Songdo Centennial (highest 39 floors) by POSCO Construction, launched in May, recorded an average competition rate of 143.4 to 1, and DH Prestige I-Park (35 floors) by Hyundai Construction and HDC Hyundai Development Company, launched in July, showed an average competition rate of 22.89 to 1.


The same applies to provincial areas. In May, ‘Sokcho The Ocean Xi’ in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, with the highest floor at 43 stories, attracted 6,127 applicants for 355 households (excluding special supply), closing in the first priority with a highest competition rate of 114 to 1 and an average of 17.26 to 1. In July, ‘Dasa Station Kumho Eoullim Central’ in Dasa-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, with the highest floor at 36 stories, also closed successfully with an average competition rate of 7.73 to 1.


High-rise apartments with excellent views and sunlight exposure are perceived by buyers as ‘luxury,’ leading local market prices and enjoying high consumer preference.


Ssangyong Construction plans to unveil ‘Ssangyong The Platinum Wando’ this month with the opening of its model house. Located on the symbolic site of the former Wando Tourist Hotel in Wando, Jeollanam-do, this complex will consist of two buildings ranging from basement level 2 to 37 floors above ground, with a total of 192 households ranging from 80 to 181 square meters in exclusive area.


Wando-gun is the center of the Dadohae Marine National Park and is being developed as a marine tourism city. The entire area is widely covered with maekbansuk (black slate) on islands and undersea, which can be used extensively as a healthcare resource for removing harmful metals or for far-infrared heat therapy. In April, the ‘Wando Marine Healing Blue Zone Development Project,’ selected as a pilot project under the Regional Development Investment Agreement by the National Balanced Development Committee, will invest 18.2 billion KRW over three years.


As one of the rare ultra-high-rise buildings in Wando, residents will enjoy a lifelong privilege of unobstructed views of the Dadohae Sea. The top floors will feature luxury penthouses of 172㎡ and 181㎡, showcasing the essence of high-end seaside residences. The sky bridge connecting the buildings will have a striking exterior that dominates the surroundings, becoming a regional landmark and offering residents a special space. Additionally, premium specialized facilities never before seen in Wando, such as a sky lounge (32F) and panoramic elevators, will be introduced.


This location is the center of Wando, with abundant residential infrastructure including transportation. Wando Public Bus Terminal is a 5-minute drive away, and the Gwangju-Wando Expressway is scheduled to open in 2024, making regional travel more convenient. Nearby are Wando High School, Wando Central Elementary School, Wando County Office, and Hanaro Mart, providing a comfortable living environment.
