[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party floor leader Na Kyung-won commented on June 6 regarding Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo being sentenced to two years in prison in the appellate court, saying, “The price for systematically mocking democracy and ravaging the presidential election is only two years?” and added, “We must someday uncover and reveal the more important truth hidden deep and dark.”

On the same day, Na Kyung-won stated on Facebook, “Although the Public Official Election Act charges were acquitted, the truth of this case is clearly that comments were manipulated to steal the hearts of the people and distort public opinion,” and expressed bitterness over the court’s “compromising judgment.”

Na Kyung-won also said, “What is worrisome is the Supreme Court’s ruling. I am concerned whether the Supreme Court, which barely saved Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung and Seongnam Mayor Eun Soo-mi, can make a proper judgment,” and added, “In these times when justice and injustice are reversed, I quietly hope that justice will be upheld in the Republic of Korea.”
