[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Startup Support Group of Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) held the 1st Youth CEO Startup Forum on the 4th at the campus Imagine Square.
This event, held as part of the 2020 Early Startup Package Project promoted by Dongseo University’s Startup Support Group, was attended by students and young CEOs who presented on the difficulties and overcoming processes of startups and gave advice on entrepreneurship to university students.
The invited speaker of the day, Lee Dong-hyung, founder of Cyworld and current head of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, gave heartfelt advice on startup plans and goals that entrepreneurs must know under the theme “There must be a plan for both failure and success.”
The event, held simultaneously online and offline, attracted about 200 young people showing high interest in startups.
Since 2020, Dongseo University has been selected for the Early Startup Package Support Project (Ministry of SMEs and Startups, about 7.5 billion KRW over 3 years).
It was also selected for the Leading University for Laboratory Startups Project (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and ICT, about 3 billion KRW over 3 years) and the Makerspace Construction and Operation Project (Ministry of SMEs and Startups, about 800 million KRW over 5 years), completing a full-cycle startup support platform that connects university-originated startup education achievements to actual startups.
Jung Do-woon, head of Dongseo University’s Startup Support Group, said, “We have entered an era where we must embrace hybrid events that cross online and offline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Youth CEO Startup Forum, we will actively support local young entrepreneurs to discuss various startup issues and contribute to spreading youth startup culture.”
