[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The funeral procession for comedian Park Ji-sun (36), who suddenly passed away, will be held today (the 5th).

At 11 a.m. on the 5th, the funeral procession for the late Park Ji-sun and her mother will take place at the funeral hall of Ewha Mokdong Hospital in Seoul. The burial site is Incheon Family Park.

Earlier, on the 2nd at around 1:44 p.m., Park Ji-sun and her mother were found dead together at their home in Mapo-gu, Seoul. A note believed to be a suicide letter written by her mother was found, but respecting the family's wishes, the contents were not disclosed. Also, considering the low possibility of homicide and the family's wishes, an autopsy was not performed.

Many were shocked due to the late comedian's active career and her exceptional personality and reputation.

At Park Ji-sun’s funeral hall, a continuous stream of condolences from colleagues in the broadcasting industry flowed. On the 3rd, comedians and broadcasters Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Seok-jin, Kim Mi-hwa, Im Ha-ryong, Kim Soo-yong, Choi Yang-rak, Paeng Hyun-sook, Hong Rok-gi, Lee Guk-joo, Jo Se-ho, Kim Young-chul, Park Young-jin, and Yoon Sung-ho visited the funeral hall. Actors Park Jung-min and Park Bo-young, as well as singers such as SHINee’s Key, rappers Sangchu and Shorry, also paid their respects.

On the third day of the funeral, the 4th, visits from broadcasting officials and fans continued without pause. On this day, actress Lee Yoon-ji and others visited, and Song Eun-i and Oh Na-mi stayed as chief mourners to grieve the deceased.

Floral tributes sent by fellow entertainers mourning Park Ji-sun, as well as various entertainment agencies and film and broadcasting associations, filled the funeral hall densely.

Tributes continued not only in the entertainment industry but also across various sectors. On the 3rd, Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, posted on his Facebook, "Many people are saddened by the sudden news of Park Ji-sun and her mother. I pray for the deceased’s happiness in the afterlife and send deep condolences to the bereaved family," paying tribute to her.

Meanwhile, Park Ji-sun debuted in 2007 as a KBS 22nd class public recruitment comedian and was active in shows such as "Gag Concert." Recently, she was active as an MC at production presentations, idol showcases, and fan meetings.
